Mirror Mirror On The Wall!

Ever since human beings became aware of their own image there has been fascination and mystique surrounding reflective surfaces. Folklore and legend have hundreds of stories relating to magic and haunted mirrors. Most, needless to say, tend to be warnings about the dangers of mirrors having negative, supernatural qualities.

Mirrors are also viewed by many as portals to other dimensions and with this comes the added risk of meeting the unknown. Here are some of the things said about mirrors:

  • Mirrors have the ability to suck out souls therefore they must be removed from a room where an ill person lies as they are more vulnerable at this time.
  • People were warned never to look into a mirror at night or by candle light. If you did so you would be certain to see ghosts, demons and portents of death - even your own!
  • When a person died in a room the mirrors had to be covered or turned to face the wall. Failure to do so would result in the deceased person's soul being lost - or they may even turn into a vampire.
  • Even while asleep, it was thought best to cover your mirror as you could be vulnerable to attack from negative spirits or demons during the dark hours. Also, never place your bed in a place where it is reflected in a mirror.
  • In order to prevent mirrors being used as a portal by supernatural entities, the mirror should be frequently moved to different areas of the room. Mirrors with a solid backing placed in the same position for a long period of time, are more likely to become spiritual portals.

Mirror Know How

So what kinds of experiences have people had with mirrors? There are hundreds of documented cases of haunted mirrors and they tend to have similar characteristics. People have reported paranormal experiences when:

  • An old mirror has been bought/acquired and brought into the home.
  • People, when moving into a new home, have had problems with mirrors left behind by the previous occupants.
  • People have reported paranormal activity after using mirrors for divination/scrying. Usually no protection was used by the participants and it is thought that they may have created a portal. It is suggested that when carrying out any kind of spiritual work with mirrors to use a cleansing and protective ritual. If you are doing spiritual work that doesn't involve a mirror or other scrying device, then these should either be covered or put away in a safe place.
  • It has also been reported that the use of a ouija board can also create portals. Mirrors nearby are often claimed to be the origin or opening of the portal after a ouija board session.
  • Often people have reported having experiences with haunted mirrors in hotels, friends/relatives home, visiting a place as a tourist etc. These areas usually, but not always, have a reputation for being haunted.

Phenomena reported in connection with haunted mirrors varies. The most common manifestation is the formation of images of people/entities other than the people occupying the room. However, it should be remembered that natural distortions and curious light effects can create a number of bizarre effects. Added to this is the brain's phenomenal ability to create meaningful shapes and faces out of random patterns. But despite this, many of the reported cases of haunted mirrors were witnessed by more than one person at different times of the day, in various lighting conditions. Therefore, these cases may possibly rule out natural causes. Added to this, other forms of paranormal manifestations developed in addition to that connected with the mirror involved.

Paranormal Activity Reported With Haunted Mirrors

The phenomena experienced by people is diverse. In most cases, but not all, the energy seems to be negative rather than benign. However, some of the apparent malevolence might be due to a fear factor, suggestion or misinterpretation rather than a negative spirit. Paranormal activity includes:

  • Shadow People - these have frequently been witnessed in connection with haunted mirrors and are common. People describe not only shadow people standing near to mirrors, but also within the mirror and entering or leaving them. Quite a few cases also reported other phenomena at the same time such as - cold spots, voices, noises and orbs. Odours - ranging from pleasant to vile have also been described. The shadows can take various shapes - tall, small, very thin, very fat, distorted, human, animal.
  • Shadow Mists - basically similar to shadow people. The mists are not only seen entering and leaving mirrors but at times seem to form into more recognisable shapes - usually a humanoid one. Other people have described these mists evolving into dense, dark clouds or masses that move around the room as well as within mirrors. The feelings reported by the witnesses are usually of a negative nature. Anger, hostility and evil are some of the feelings experienced. In addition, people have given accounts of other phenomena happening at the same time - cold spots, lights/orbs, glowing eyes, growls/voices/other noises and poltergeist activity.
  • Faces - this is probably by far the most frequent manifestation reported by people in association with haunted mirrors. The faces are, most of the time, human - and sometimes known to the witnesses. But there are a number of accounts where people have reported other entities/demonic faces appearing.

With this amount of paranormal activity associated with mirrors, it's not surprising that they have the reputation for being portals. But what exactly is a portal?

Spirit Portals

Spirit portals are not a knew concept. They have been around for quite some time. At it's most basic level, they are claimed to be the entrance and exit points for spiritual energy and other dimensions. It has been claimed that portals have been captured on film, usually photographs. They generally appear as a whirl-wind or elongated, swirling shape. Below is some of the characteristics of a portal:

  • A portal is thought to be a hole, rip, opening, window in the energy fields that surround the spiritual realms/dimensions. Energy beings such as spirits can slip through these openings into the physical plane.
  • Negative spirits frequently come through portals. This is believed to happen because the astral layer closest to the physical plane is full of lower astral beings and energy.
  • Most portals are believed to be a two way pathway for both entering and leaving the physical level.
  • Very high levels of paranormal activity are claimed to be found near portals.
  • Many believe that portals are found all over the world and there may even be certain hot spots.
  • Many believe that not only spiritual beings can use portals, but also beings/aliens from other dimensions.
  • It is thought that there are special, but very rare, portals that are completely positive. No lower astrals or dimensional beings can enter these unless they are spiritually advanced.
  • Some psychics and those who are developing their spirituality, claim that not only can they sense portals, but they can also close and open them up.
  • It is thought by many that portals and vortices are the same thing. However many psychics and investigators believe they are different. That a vortex is simply a pure band of energy, neither negative nor positive and is not a doorway. It can however, be used for meditation and other spiritual work.
  • Not all psychics and paranormal investigators believe that portals exist.
  • Apart from mirrors, portals are thought to exist in areas of entry/exit within the physical realm. Places such as doorways, windows and even cupboards/wardrobes are thought to have contained portals.

Conclusions

"Moon and flame dance in glassy tomb,

The mirror's eye in candle gloom,

Shadows stir and seek release,

gain ghostly entrance to the room."

As with any paranormal phenomena it is difficult to know which cases are genuine or natural phenomena mistaken for something supernatural. But one thing is certain, mirrors will continue to play a part in alleged psychic phenomena.

We may never know what part mirrors play, if any, within the physical and spiritual realms. But the next time you pass a mirror and you get an odd shiver running down your back, take a good look at the reflection - you never know who or what might be staring back at you!

There aren't a whole lotta things more potentially unnerving that being alone, feeling uneasy, and then looking in a big mirror by candlelight in a spooky house. You've got a really intriguing subject here Seeker and done your usual superb job presenting it. Maybe mirrors can be portals; maybe Lewis Carrol knew a little something about that when he wrote Through the Looking Glass. As far as Shadow People go I know a little about that subject myself and so do alot of other folk. And btw, looked on wiki and mirror remains have been found all the back to 6,000 b.c.e. Thats a heck of lot of looking over the ages isn't it! Liked this hub very much Seeker- thank you.

LOL! Hi Rosemay! Re: the lipstick! You and me both!

Do you know I have never ever liked mirrors - and that's honestly since I was a little kid. Especially the old creepy ones. We had one in our house - a wardrobe mirror thing, given to us by an old, but not close relative. Mum and Dad kept it for a few months so as not to seem ungrateful, but chopped it up at Halloween & Guy Fawkes night for the bonfire! I was never so relieved to see a piece of furniture get turfed out. My Mum and Dad both had experiences with the paranormal, and not that they said anything to us at the time, but something did happen us kids were sure of it. Both my sister and I felt we were being watched whenever we were near the mirror. But if it was paranormal I can't say whether or not it would be the mirror to blame or if something was attached to the whole wardrobe. A few years later, we were all talking about ghostly experiences and the wardrobe thing came up for discussion. It turns out that it was my Dad who thought, on two occasions, that he had seen a face of a man and a woman in the mirror.

And yes you are right, very creepy indeed. Writing this hub brought back lots of memories!

As usual lovely to hear from you Rosemay - hope your okay now putting your lipstick on!! Glad that you enjoyed the hub.

Seeker7 profile image

Seeker7 Hub Author 4 months ago

Hey Alastar! Hope things are well with you?

I agree with you about the sense of being alone and uneasy and if there happens to be a creepy mirror nearby then the feelings are intensified! I was saying to Rosemay, that since I was a kid I have never liked mirrors at all. Even now, at times, with some mirrors - especially places that I am staying over night in - I do cover them up if I don't like what I'm feeling. I know many people with scoff at this, but hey, I don't really care! If it makes me sleep easier then I'll continue to cover them up! In my own house I only have mirrors that I've chosen and that I know are okay. Silly and superstitious perhaps, but even before I wrote this hub, I genuinely did feel that mirrors could potentially just be a bit more than a reflective surface. I wonder even, just after reading your comment Alastar, if mirrors in addition to being potential portals, could they also be magnifiers for paranormal activity? I don't know why I'm saying that, it just struck me. Anyway, most of the spook stuff I write about intrigues rather than scares me, but, probably due to my nervousness with mirrors, I was genuinely creeped out at times writing this!

As to Lewis Carrol, well being a writer and many writers do have deep perception and some psychic perception, so perhaps this guy did have feelings about what might be beyond the reflective surface - and got a really good book out of it as well. The 'portal' in Alice was good fun - although I found, as a kid, a bit spooky as well - but I tend to think that the actual portals would not be so nice, well at least some of them.

Wow! I knew mirrors were very old but I honestly hadn't realised that they went as far back as 6,000 BCE! That is awesome! Our ancestors were very perceptive and clever about a lot of things - especially about nature, the spiritual and so on - I wonder if even way back then, they felt as well, that there was something else other than a reflection? And as you say, that is indeed a 'heck of a lot of looking'!

Alastar, as usual it was great to get your feedback and your ideas on this hub - it's always fascinating and very much appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Gypsy! Lovely to hear from you!

Shadow people! Aren't they weirdest of phenomena? I think what really interests me as well about SP's is that this kind of experience is said to be on the increase - in a big way! What this means in general and paranormal terms I've no idea. But what many people are saying - investigators and witnesses, is that the SP's seem to be evolving. This is in the sense of previously, no features were usually clear, but with some SP's, they are showing with more defined shapes and facial features are now being seen in some cases. I don't whether I'm more intrigued or creeped out by this! LOL!

I'm like you - no way would I have the guts to use a mirror as a portal. Maybe not so much the going there, but it would be the getting back that would worry me!

Gypsy, many thanks for stopping by and leaving such an interesting comment - greatly appreciated! Take care!

Hi MM, glad that you enjoyed the hub and many thanks for leaving a comment.

This hub is creepy, no doubts about that. I don't know if, like clowns, mirrors are one of those things that just make people feel a bit weird? I know I've never liked them and partly that has to do with a previous experience my Dad had when we were kids. But even putting that to the side, I think I would still find a lot of mirrors un-nerving. Also, I think any phenomena that involves shadow people/mists does tend to send the shivers up and down the spine!

Fabulous photos, Seeker 7. I've always been interested, fascinated, and just a little wary of the paranormal. My own mother had some "un-explainable" stories of angels, things that couldn't be explained by conventional means. This is an excellent hub. Thank you.

Muldania 4 months ago

There are many ghost stories, where a ghost room is relected in an old mirror. This reminds me of an experience of my great grandmother, who when visiting an old house saw the refection of a woman in the mirror, standing behind her. When she turned around, there was no one there.

SanXuary Level 5 Commenter 4 months ago

Most ancient temples were designed for this purpose. The walls and ceilings were polished and a pool of water was then centred in the middle of the room. The person would then sit on one end of the pool in darkness with nothing but a candle and would concentrate on the reflections. Alexander the Great made just such a trip after conquering Egypt and returned from the journey believing that he had been told that he was a God.

Hi Ruth, lovely to hear from you and many thanks for the very interesting comment.

As much as the paranormal interests me, I know from one or two of my own experiences that it's always wise to be wary.

That's very intersting about your Mother and the Angel experiences. I mentioned about the increase in 'shadow people' experiences, but the Angel experiences are also on the increase - perhaps one balances out the other? I think your Mum must have been a very special and favoured lady to have had such wonderful visitors!

Glad that you enjoyed the hub Ruth and many thanks for your visit!

Hi Muldania, many thanks for stopping by and taking the time to leave a comment - and a very interesting one as well.

That is fascinating about your Grandmother! There are a large number of people who have had similar experiences and, as with your Grandmother, the ghost or spirit, is not actually reflected in the mirror, but seems to be within the mirror itself. Now does this mean that the mirror is a portal? Or does it mean that a spirit can use the properties of the mirror to manifest? If it's a residual haunting, ( a replay), can a mirror create the energy to trigger off this replay? I don't know if we will ever find the answers to these questions, but I think mirrors will continue to be haunted and people will definately continue to have experiences with them.

Many thanks again for your visit - I really enjoyed reading your comment.

Hi SanXuary, great to hear from you and many thanks for leaving a comment - a really interesting one!

I knew that people from the past did carry out forms of divination, but I had no idea that temples and the rooms within would be designed and created to such a degree. That is fascinating! It would seem that their idea goes along with the 'portal' theory perhaps?

As to Alexander the Great. He is definately one of the most intriguing figures from history and no one can dispute his military genius. Along with his martial excellence he seems to have had an ego to match. But then if the man didn't have such a high opinion of himself, he wouldn't have been as successful as he was. Believing that he was a god after his bout of divination, I guess says more about delusions of grandeur than the success of this divination technique.

Many thanks again for your visit and your information on the temples - really interesting!

SanXuary Level 5 Commenter 4 months ago

Another item is what they call a Devils box used for the same purpose. A lot of people have probably seen them and most jewellery boxes were created on the concept not to mention wishing well. It was nothing but a box with mirrors on all sides that you would gaze in. The greatest oddity perhaps is that anything can used as an object of divination and the Devil will trick you. There is a researcher who has created a room of mirrors to study our inability to see all dimensions. In his studies he has had people report that they have met relatives who have passed on. He is not interested in divination but was studying the ability to see all dimensions when this has occurred. Still only the person in the study can only see these things. A person locked in an isolation chamber will eventually lose reality if kept to long. This is similar to being locked inside a barrel laying in a bath tub shut off from all stimulation.

Hi SanXuary, that is really interesting about 'the devil's box' - haven't heard of that that one either. I also agree about being tricked - whether it's demons or just nasty folks who have passed on. So often we hear that divination sessions seem to start off very nice but soon spiral downwards into a very frightening and negative experience. Personally, unless you really know what you are doing and know how to protect yourself, I would suggest that most folks leave things like this alone.

I often wonder about sensory deprevation? Does this open up your abilities to see more of the invisible or is it just the desperate attempts of mind to make sense of a situation it can't interpret. Maybe it's a bit of both?

Seeker7 profile image

Seeker7 Hub Author 4 months ago

Hi voodoo123, many thanks for stopping by and taking the time to leave a comment.

I think the fact that investigators and psychics do have different beliefs can be a good thing but also a bad thing at times. When there are disagreements it can lead to petty squabbles and to inconsistencies within research. The problem here is that good information or experiences might be lost. On the other hand, disagreements can be a bonus in that it keeps a very healthy level of scepticism within research, rather than every little weird thing being classed as supernatural.

It would seem that mirrors have been used for a very long time in spiritual work and I think this will continue well into our future.

Many thanks again for your visit and your input - it's greatly appreciated.

SanXuary Level 5 Commenter 4 months ago

The Bible clearly tells us to contact the creator and not his creations. The story of King Saul clearly tells us such things exist not to mention Demons being cast out. There are some lost books, or books written in Biblical times but not accepted as part of the Bible that describe a group of beings whose only purpose is to trick, manipulate and to deceive. Anyone who believes in life after death would have no choice but to believe in an inter-dimensional World, it comes with the territory. It is also pretty obvious that people have been doing this a long time and will not be likely to offer much proof in physical terms.

Seeker7 profile image

Seeker7 Hub Author 4 months ago

Hi SanXuary,

Yes! And I think many of the holy books warn against 'the creations'! When researching/investigating the paranormal it's abundantly clear that other dimensions not only exist, but can be populated with, as you rightly say 'beings whose only purpose is to trick, manipulate and deceive'. I think it's wise to know your limitations when investigating the paranormal and to know when to draw back and leave well alone.

As to physical proof. I think that's the problem that science and especially sceptics have. For the simple reason they look at this essentially non-physical force and source in purley physical terms - it doesn't work! I think the fact is, that although science is doing wonderful things - and some not so wonderful things - science just isn't good enough to penetrate the paranormal. Therefore, for sceptics it can't possibly exist.

SanXuary Level 5 Commenter 4 months ago

Here is a subject for your next article you might want to research. I was never a believer and ignored it my whole life until I actually caught a documentary on it and it blew my mind. The subject is crop circles. After really looking at it I came to the conclusion that no one is making these things. The forensic evidence is that it is an electrical phenomenon and most likely natural. The shapes are however the greatest oddity. Forming the shapes of basic biology for life and incredible geometry. We get the basic believers that think this is aliens and such. I have my own belief that perhaps it is proof of intelligent design on a planetary level.

Seeker7 profile image

Seeker7 Hub Author 4 months ago

Hi SanXuary - I will certainly and seriously consider crop cirlces. They are awesome! I was never sure about the 'alien' theory, it didn't make sense a lot of the time. But the biggest joke came from sceptics themselves - they're all hoaxes they cry! Humans made them! How arrogant can you get! Humans are clever, but they're not that clever! Some of the designs created are breath taking! And because it has been proved that many were 'made' over night, there is no way that humans have that capability - nor ET's either!

A natural phenomena does make sense. The deeper you look into nature the more you realise just what an awesome and beautiful 'intelligence' is behind creation.

SanXuary Level 5 Commenter 4 months ago

They claim that it is an electrical phenomena, It heats the stalks and if they are young plants they bend at the exact location and fall over. If the plants are older they explode and fall over. No one can personally do this and maintain such perfection. Short of a satellite in space microwaving the planet with precision I have no other answers. Such a device would require enormous power. Historical data indicates that this has been going on forever. I have seen a few photographs where this occurs at a planetary level in the atmosphere.

Hi grandamapearl, lovely to hear from you and glad that you enjoyed the hub!

Some modern mirrors can have a kind of weird air about them, but I agree, I definately think that old mirrors have more of a mysterious quality about them.

As to the portals. Yes, electromagnetic readings have been known to rise quite high when near to a portal - and some groups have claimed to have discounted all natural sources of EM, so leaving an interesting anomaly. I also understand that other phenomena increases such as cold spots and hot spots, that can be measured by infra-red. Night vision cameras have also caught more orbs around these areas - even after eliminating reflected light, insects and dust etc. - there is still quite a high proportion of actual orbs visible. Some groups also claim to have caught more EVP (electronic voice phenomena) at the sites of an alleged portal.

Many thanks again for your visit and for the very interesting question!

Just popped back to tell you a weird thing happened to me yesterday. We often hear odd noises in the house. If we are in the lounge we now and then hear banging on the wall from the other side which is the dining room. We often hear strange noises coming from the conservertory but put it down to noisy neighbours. I was in the conserertory yesterday and heard the screen door shut, being metal it has a distinctive unmistakeable sound. I turned round thinking someone had come in... but nothing or no one there. strange. But this house does not feel uncomfortable or cold, so if it is a visitor they seem to be friendly.

Hi Rosemay,

How exciting! As a matter of interest, have you been decorating, gardening or doing any kind of building/maintenance within the last 6 months or so? Often carrying out work in or around the home can attract attention from spirits. If not, many houses, in my experience, that have spirits, can be on cyclical events. By this I just mean that nothing is heard for a while, then you will get a few bits and pieces, then all goes quiet again. Almost like they come for a short visit then go away again.

I can almost say with certainty that they are friendly. First because most spirits are. Secondly if you have anything at all negative it's very, very obvious in the feelings you experience personally, but also the feelings of the house - the cold and oppresive atmosphere is unmistakable. So yes, I think you have one or more lovely spirits, just popping in to see what you are all up to. It might even be the baby that's attracted attention as well.

Many thanks for sharing this story Rosemay - very interesting indeed!!

Hi voodoo123,

I agree about shapes! Especially when we get into the micro-cosmic level, the perfection and mathematical precision speaks of intelligence within nature. I think many starting off begin with the alien theory - given that there are a few very well documented and witnessed sightings it's understandable - but many do move on from the theory of 'aliens' causing all and reach out for a more profound answer. In addition, the many accounts I've read about, at least some, alleged aliens, they don't seem to be all that more advanced than us - mentally or spiritually.

The reason being that I never really liked mirrors as a kid, I always found them quite scary. Thanks for nice hub.

Hi voodoo123,

I agree about mirrors being creepy. There's not that much that does spook me, but I will admit that mirrors do give me a weird feeling and I have been scared of one in particular! Not a nice feeling.

I have heard about the soul becoming a vampire if lost to the mirror! When you look at some of them - very creepy to look at - it's not surprising that these beliefs arose, especially considering the amount of phenomena that seems to occur around them.

I also agreed seeker7 with your point mirrors being creepy.Mirrors can easily be a frightening instrument. Our imaginations sometimes convince us that there’s more to a reflection than we can possibly comprehend, potentially dark and evil things that can never be stopped. Sure, science can support their theories of light reflection increasingly well, but even the direct, factual truth can’t keep our minds from wondering. Not even repeatedly-proven evidence can keep us from THINKING. That is the truth many of us will never escape from: imaginations are unstoppable.

Seeker,

One more time, you've made my read time verrrryyy interesting. :)

I haven't had any trouble with mirrors, and don't ever want to either, lol.

But, the histories regarding their involvement with paranormal activity are intriguing.

Thumbs up!

I agree and although science is wonderful - it doesn't have and never will have all the answers.

Hi femme - smashing to hear from you and glad that you enjoyed the hub.

I had enough experiences with one particular mirror when I was a kid, so like your good self, I don't really want anymore as interesting as it might be! LOL! It is a fascinating subject and I think what's most interesting is that even taking into account natural causes, imagination and so on, this still leaves an awful lot of very intriguing phenomena!

Many thanks for the thumbs up! Much appreciated.

Hi voodoo123,

I agree, I think some people do attract energies by the things they get up to - especially if they don't know what they are doing. But I also think we do get spooks and entities who are just around to cause people grief! I wouldn't hesitate to tell them where to go - and I've done so in the past. It works!

Hi, love this! and I would love those mirrors in your photos! I remember years ago one of my family, my gran I think, had a mirror in her bedroom. It was one of those that is attached to a chest of drawers and can swivel back and forward to get your reflection at the right angle. I hated it! it used to give me the spooks! I never wanted to look into it, and if I had to go into her room I made sure I went around the other side of the bed to get away from it! stupid I know, but there was something, you know? ughh! lol! I do remember years ago, at work, walking into the ladies at lunch time and after doing my makeup, I turned to walk away and caught sight of something in the mirror, it looked like a face! but to this day I will never know, rated up! cheers nell

Hi Nell, as usual it's lovely to hear from you and glad that you enjoyed the hub. I'm also glad that there's someone like myself who is not that keen on mirrors. LOL!

Your gran's mirror does sound very, very creepy - and I know the ones you mean. My dad's aunt had one similar. When you needed the bathroom you had to pass her bedroom with this freaky, swivelling mirror in it that you saw when you went past to go to the loo. I used to do the 100m sprint to get by that door and I never looked at the thing!!! I was really scared to look at it. As you rightly say, it does sound so dumb, but there was something about it I just didn't like. Yet my own gran had two very old mirrors and they never bothered me at all?

Now that's really interesting about going into the ladies room and perhaps seeing something in the mirror. I don't know if you've heard about this, but the number of rest rooms and toilets that are alleged to be haunted is phenomenal - and I don't think spooks have weak bladders so that's not the cause!! LOL! But what is more interesting is that it tends to be 'ladies' loos that have the most activity? I can't quite work this one out yet!

If you see people you know who have died in your mirror but they have never been reflected in it until then. They are trying to warn you of something. Be carefull and ask for a message aloud at midnight. They will answer! Personally, I believe a simply a reflective surface, and had little/nothing to do with the paranormal.

Hi voodoo123,

I hadn't heard this if people hadn't been reflected previously? That is very interesting. I wonder if the cases involving dead relatives appearing to people in the mirrors at home have indeed been some kind of warning to the families? Thanks for the information.

Forgot to come back and say the reason why theres more activity in the ladies is the fact that the ghosts still retain the sense of wanting to pee more than men! haha!

Hello Rose in the fact of ghosts ghost legends were initially imagined up, confirmation bias the inclination to see what we want to see took over and perpetuated the phenomenon in human culture.

Voted up, useful, and interesting. Wow, this is freaky stuff. I have heard about a few of these because I always watch paranormal shows. It really makes you second guess everything you was taught. You did a great job pointing out everything Seeker. Great job, awesome hub.

Hi the lyricwriter - as usual it's always great to hear from you. I agree it is freaky stuff and it's interesting how many people - including myself at times - do find mirrors uncomfortable, like there is something else going on. Now this could just be imagination, but then again, there has been so much paranormal stuff recorded in relation to mirrors that you just never know.

Many thanks again for your visit, always a pleasure!

unmso - many thanks for stopping by and glad that you enjoyed the hub. I am like you in that I've always been curious about mirrors and on occasion a little creeped out by them - apart from the paranormal, I'm sure there is a lot of psychology in my uneasiness as well!

Many thanks again for your nice comment.

As We all believed in shadow people. If they are bothering you, get a ghost buster or priest in there to hunt them down and throw them out. If they are not bothering you, just accept them as part of life.

I always believe in, or try to, that if people/things whatever are not bugging you, then leave them alone to do what they are doing. I carry on with life and concentrate on my own issues.

Without spiritual mirrors we cannot experience God fully.

Seeker7 profile image

Seeker7 Hub Author 3 months ago

Hi voodoo123 - this is a very true saying and a profound one. When we are developing though, I'm always wary of illusion! Is illusion sent by the forces of light to test and help us grow? Or sent by the darkness to mislead our steps? Mirros can be the biggest illusion of all.

Sometimes god loads me up with things beyond my own understanding, meaning i can visually understand it, but i cant put it into words.

Seeker7 profile image

Seeker7 Hub Author 2 months ago

This seems to be very common! I wish god, the creator or whoever 'it' is would load me up with a good dose of common sense and clarity of mind at times - maybe then I'd understand more of what was going on in this world and others!

Seeker7 profile image

Seeker7 Hub Author 2 months ago

I know where you are coming from when saying 'can't put it into words' - so many people who have experiences - spiritual, paranormal and so on, have this same problem. It's an experience beyond the physical, therefore words and sensations within the physical world at not nearly adequate enough to explain it in terms people can understand and accept. When you get these experiences it's a kind of 'knowing' and also a full acceptance that, however, crazy, it's real.
